Every August 26, International Dog Day is celebrated to bring awareness to the importance of the “DOG” in our lives, the need for us to rescue, not purchase, to keep fighting for every dog to have a loving home, and to remember: DOG is GOD spelled a little differently. Dogs are certainly made of unconditional love.
This August 26, I am writing to celebrate our dogs who go with us on vacation. They do crazy things, things we won’t do (or things we think about doing, but wait so long, the sun goes down).
We love them, but they scare us. They are fearless when we are not. Heights don’t bother them. They can hang their little paws off the side of a mountain, then look around and say “Hey! See me now?”
They get wet. They laugh! We cannot remember if there are sharks in this lake!
Dogs on vacation are exasperating! But at least, they are having a good time!
