The Prime Directive. Complete diversity on the Starship Enterprise, including a Vulcan Science Officer, Spock! As a child, I was fascinated by 1) the possibility that I could be a scientist; 2) the idea of living on a starship; 3) the vastness of space and the unknown planets out there. A cabin on the starship would have been my favorite small space, ever. I still think about it and wonder if dreaming about being a scientist on the Starship Enterprise influenced my love of small spaces. But today is to celebrate–the small, short television program that launched so much! Happy Birthday Star Trek!
